I wanted to take a brief moment to welcome those of you who may be new to Thoughts From a Crosseyed Jesus Freak. Some of you may be joining us from our new Thoughts From a Crosseyed Jesus Freak Facebook page. This page was created for a couple of different reasons.

First, Facebook has changed some of the settings and I can no longer have new posts automatically post to my personal Facebook profile like I did in the past. We are able, however, to have posts come directly to a Facebook page. Therefore, Thoughts From a Crosseyed Jesus Freak Facebook page was born.

Second, this was a step that I had been thinking about taking for some time. It’s a place where we can possibly reach more people that we wouldn’t be able to reach otherwise. And any step that I can take to try to introduce more people to Jesus or help someone in their desire to deepen their relationship with Jesus is something that I am all about.

Recently I had a realization that I had fallen back into the trap of just going through the motions in some things, and I made that confession to my faith family this morning. I have a fire and passion again that I am going to not only pour into my local church, but also into my writing. I want crosseyedjesusfreak.com to become a place where people can really dive into their relationships with God and with each other, which means I’m going to attempt to be more intentional in posting on a more regular basis.

There are a couple of ways this will come about. First, I will post a weekly link to our most current sermon from Canton Christian Church. These sermons are recorded weekly and uploaded to our website and youtube channel. And now they will be linked here as well.

I’m going to try to expand on our sermons each week through this page as well. There is only so much depth that can happen on a Sunday morning, and hopefully you want more depth, at least from time to time. And this is a space that can provide that opportunity.

Other than welcoming you, I have one small request. If you like Thoughts From a Crosseyed Jesus Freak and crosseyedjesusfreak.com, will you share it with your friends and family? Share it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and any other social media spaces you can think of. Invite them to sign up to receive an e-mail every time a new post drops or to follow the Thoughts From a Crosseyed Jesus Freak Facebook page.

It is my hope and prayer that God uses this space to glorify Him and to introduce more and more people to a loving God who wants a relationship with us. Paraphrasing Hebrews 12:2, we are told to; “Fix our eyes on Jesus”. That’s where the idea of Crosseyed comes from. Jesus Freak comes from the dc Talk song Jesus Freak that states;

What will people think

When they hear that I’m a Jesus freak

What will people do when they find that it’s true

I don’t really care if they label me a Jesus freak

There ain’t no disguising the truth

That is the passion behind this page. But there is one other passage from Paul that I want to leave you with in this post. It explains why we share the gospel the way we do. Romans 1:16;

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
